On May 7, 2020, Elsevier officially released the 2019 Chinese Most Cited Researchers list. Among 2163 researchers selected, 27 come from Wuhan University. Among 17 Chinese scholars in the field of dentistry, 5 experts serve in WHUSS and they are Prof. Yufeng Zhang, Prof. Bin Peng, Prof. Yining Wang, Prof. Bing Fan, and Prof. Zhuan Bian.
This list is based on Scopus data, which is the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature and features tools to track, analyze and visualize scholarly research. The selection criteria are provided by ShanghaiRanking Consultancy, a fully independent organization studying the characteristics of world research universities and various policies of universities and governments regarding lifting performance.
Scholars listed among the Most-Cited Chinese Researchers are first authors and corresponding authors of papers, and their corresponding addresses belong to China (Mainland). Their research achievements rank at the top of their fields (At least one top1% cited papers in the world or FWCI>1) .
