On May 15th to 16th, Prof. Jeremy J. Mao from College of Dental Medicine, Columbia University visited our hospital. Prof. Jeremy J. Mao gave a wonderful lecture titled “Regenerative Medicine: Benchtop to Chairside” for our researchers and students to report his research achievements in regenerative medicine and tissue engineering technology in detail. He deeply introduced the research progress and development trend of clinical transformation of dental& craniofacial regeneration and tissue engineering technology in a simple way, and had a heated and interactive discussion with the teachers and students present.
At the night of May 16th, Prof. Jeremy J. Mao, and four leaders of our hospital including Prof. Bian Zhuan (Dean), Associate Prof. Meng Liuyan (Director of Department ofCariology and Endodontics I), Associate Prof. Fan Wei (Department ofCariology and Endodontics II), and Prof. Shang Shuhuan (Director of Drug Clinical Trail Institution) discussed some related issues together. Centered on the multicenter clinical trials, some related issues like the strategic framework, path, development trend, challenge of them were discussed deeply. A preliminary cooperation intention was attained, which would surely promote more extensive multicenter clinical trials in our hospital.
Prof. Jeremy J. Mao graduated from School of Stomatology, Wuhan university in 1983. At present, he is the Vice Dean of College of Dental Medicine, Columbia University. He has made great contribution in many related fields like oral tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, and published about 400 papers in famous international journals including Natureand The Lancet.
