Prof. Zhong Chen in National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD), National Institutes of Health visited School and Hospital of Stomatology, Wuhan University (WHUSS) on July 28-30, 2017. Prof. Zhong Chen gave a wonderful lecture entitled "The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) Project and Advances of Precision Medicine" to young investigators and graduate students. She introduced the TCGA database, TCGA head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) dataset and precision medicine of HNSCC. The attendees were inspired by a warm discussion and exchange of idea. The lecture was hosted by scientific director Prof. Cui Huang.

Professor Chen is involved in the collaborative research project of The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) co-organized by the National Cancer Institute and the National Human Genome Research Institute, NIH. She serves as co-chair of PanCan Atlas-Squamous Cell Carcinoma, a collaborative project for the study of five squamous cell carcinomas. Professor Chen also conducted in-depth discussion with the Department of Oral Maxillofacial –Head Neck Oncology, and visited our hospital and laboratory. She gave high praise to WHUSS especially on scientific research and expressed her wishes to cooperate with WHUSS on oral oncology project.
